Charity Evening for Sunflowers

We recently held a charity evening for clients, friends and family at our office in Stamford to raise funds for the local charity ‘Sunflowers’.

Sunflowers (or ‘Sunnies’) is a weekly support group for parents and carers in Oakham, who have young children with a variety of additional needs.

For these parents and carers, Sunnies provides an opportunity to meet, make new friends and ask for advice. For children, it’s fun time. They can enjoy a supervised swim in the pool, followed by opportunities to play and learn in a safe, understanding environment.

Sunflowers is run by volunteers and receives no government funding.

Our business is built on family values, so we are proud to be backing Sunnies this year.

The event was a casual evening with drinks, canapes provided by ‘ Stamford Kitchen’ and live music from acoustic band ‘Social Satellite’. We held a raffle and small auction using a wide variety of incredibly generous donations from both local and national businesses such as designer purses and bags, a hang gliding experience, food and drink vouchers and jewellery.

We were delighted to raise £2,131 on the night, and to add to that the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation donated a further £1,000, making the total a staggering £3,131.

With this money we are helping Sunnies purchase much needed equipment and paying for a trip for the children and their families to the Sea Life Centre in Hunstanton.
